TASTE AND NOSE

For Pontet-Canet, 2016 was absolutely the most successful year, producing a wine with a bright and memorable character.
Powerful, rich and with a deep purple colour. It has spicy, floral aromas and bright mineral notes that give it energy and wonderfully open vitality in the glass. The flavours are dark and penetrating, but most fascinating is the wine's complete sense of harmony. All the elements are just in the right place. The 2016 is fabulous. As is often the case, Pontet-Canet is one of the most unique wines in Bordeaux.
Château Pontet-Canet spent 16 months in 50% new French oak, 35% in concrete amphora, and the rest is from second-fill oak barrels. The style of this wine is becoming more refined with time and has the potential to age until 2042.
